RCS Message Support

RCS message support#

The RCS channel supports certain message types natively, while others are transcoded to ensure compatibility across devices or fallback to SMS/MMS when RCS is unavailable.

✅ Supported Message Types#

The following message types are natively supported in the RCS channel:#

1. Text Messages#

Plain or formatted text messages. These form the core of any conversation.

2. Suggested Replies/Actions#

Predefined text responses that users can tap to reply instantly. Useful for guiding user and Interactive buttons that allow users to perfom some actions:
Reply
Open a URL
Make a phone call
View a map or open a location
Share their current location

3. Stand Alone Card (Single Rich Cards)#

Visually rich messages that include:
A title and description
An image (optional)
Suggested actions (e.g., buttons to open a website, dial a number, or send a predefined reply)

4. Carousel Card (Multiple Rich Cards)#

A horizontal collection of rich cards that users can scroll through. Ideal for showcasing multiple products, services, or options.

5. Media#

Send multimedia content such as:
Images (JPG, PNG, etc.)
Videos (MP4, etc.)
Audio clips
Documents (PDF, DOCX, etc.)
